Welcome to the New Hamburg Karate Club summer schedule, so glad you are able to join us. This summer we are offering special free Zoom Karate classes for the months of July and August, starting on July 6th. Monday night classes will be similar to our current Zoom format, with a large group session for the first 25 minutes of class and and then small breakout sessions (according to belt rank) for the next 25 minutes. The Thursday night classes will be in a large group format, but could also utilize breakout sessions if required. Please see attached schedule below.
Please note that there are some classes below where we will be doing Bo Staff and also one class, where in addition to Bo, students will have the option to be instructed in Sai (for those of you that have them). If you are practicing inside we suggest having a shorter Bo, no more then 3 1/2 feet in length or no higher your hip (whichever is shorter). This is to avoid damage to walls and/or furniture. You don’t need to purchase a Bo, any type of stick that you have around that the house that is straight and smooth would be fine (e.g. a broom handle that can unscrew from the head). If you would like to order a set of Sais, please let me know.
I’ve attached a hyperlink to the Zoom link we will be using for the entire month of July. You can use it starting July 6th and follow the instructions. Paul Arsenault will be sending you a Zoom invitation e-mail for the month of August near the end of July. For Security reasons, please don’t share the hyperlink with other non NHKC members. For those who have never used Zoom before, I’ve attached some additional information below to help you get set up.
