With the warmer weather, I would like to take the opportunity to highlight some activities that have happened and also look to the spring for some upcoming events.

Ontario Chito Ryu Association of Ontario Spring Tournament Each year the Chito Ryu Association of Ontario, which represents our karate style, hosts a provincial tournament. This tournament is a great opportunity for students to meet and compete with other students from our own style across Ontario. The tournament is usually a smaller setting and provides a great atmosphere and opportunity for students that are competing, especially for the first time. This year’s tournament will take place on Sunday, April 28th, 2018 - Registration information and sign up is located at the back of the dojo. Registration deadline is April 25th. |

Ontario Karate Challenge (Brantford) Tournament
On Saturday February 16th 16 students from The New Hamburg Karate Club participated in the 28th Annual Ontario Karate Challenge in Brantford Ontario, which included hundreds of competitors from across Ontario. The students participated in kata (forms), kumite (sparring) and weapons kata and captured 19 medals. Thank you to all who attended as participants and those that went to support our team and proudly representing the New Hamburg Karate Club.

Canadian Chito Ryu Association Bogu Cup (Gatineau, Quebec)
This is our national Chito Ryu Tournament held every two years. Date of the tournament will be June 27 through 30 hosted in Gatineau, Quebec. It’s a fun-filled weekend which also includes many different activities including social events, clinics and a banquet. The Chito Ryu Association of Ontario will be hosting free special clinics available for students that are competing in the tournament. Pleases see the attached website CoupeBogu.
